WE WANT YOUR ARTWORK IN THE NEXT JACK’S MANNEQUIN VIDEO!
We are creating a music video for the powerful song “Swim” by Jack’s Mannequin. And need your help in creating artwork around the song! The lyrics, music and video are about keeping HOPE alive and growing in these difficult times that the world is now facing. The video is designed to INSPIRE strength, courage and perseverance in the face of all obstacles. It’s about creating an atmosphere of UNITY amongst the citizens of this planet, so important to overcoming the challenges we all face. It’s about letting people know they are NOT ALONE. If we collectively keep our eyes on the horizon, and help our fellow man, woman, girls and boys, we’ll make it through together.
We will be shooting a music video for “Swim” in June and want your artwork in the video. The majority of people in the video will be holding pieces of “artwork” to camera. Within the context of the song, the word “Swim” is used as a metaphor for “hope, perseverance, courage, determination and strength.” We are asking members of the fan community to create pieces of artwork that feature the word “Swim”. These pieces of art should illustrate, in any way chosen, the meaning behind the word (hope, perseverance, courage, determination and strength). They can be represented in an abstract or representational manner…any way the artist sees fit, in any medium the artist chooses.
The only three requirements we ask are:
1. They include the word “Swim” within the artwork.
2. There is no imagery of “swimming” in the artwork. We ask this because the word “Swim” is a METAPHOR for “hope, perseverance, courage, determination and strength”. We would like the artwork to be about these attributes, rather than the literal definition of the word.
3. Artwork should be around 16" x 20” in size. Vertical or horizontal ok.
4. Artwork should not be too detailed. If it's chosen for the video, it needs to be able to be seen by the camera and clear enough to be seen from at least 4' - 10' away. Tiny detailing will be lost from that distance.

I sent my daughter's artwork in and it got there overnight..yes! I really hope you pick her artwork she is 12 yrs old and both of my daughters LOVE Andrew. My husband and I took them to see the show at Centerstage in Atlanta on May 2nd..it was such a great show..Andrew is a phenomenal performer and musician. I am in my 40's and have not seen such a great show in a long time. It was worth the long drive and hotel stay to take my girls to such a great show.

Best of Luck with the new video, Swim. I really wish that I could have contributed my artwork because i had a unique artwork for the video that would have fit in very well with the concept of the video, but I was away at my prom and unfortunately could not submit my artwork in time. I really wish that I could have given in my artwork, but I know the video will be absolutely amazing with the many drawings that were submitted.

I sent mine overnight shipping today. It was sent out around 10 am, so it SHOULD get there by 10 tomorrow morning, but that's assuming timing is perfect. If it's a little bit after 12, is it okay? I DID scan the release form and DO have digital copies of my art that I can email in, but I prefer the hard copies to the digital copies so I'd rather not. Do you think it'd be advisable to send them in digitally also with the note that they're also coming in as a hard copy?
I worked really hard and am super proud of the work that I did so it's really important to me that it goes through.

When you say that it's due in 12pm on friday, how strict are you about that deadline?
Something must have gotten messed up, because when I just got on FedEx's website to track my package, it says it's estimated arrival is friday at around 4:30pm.

SWIM ARTWORK URGENT QUESTION

2 days ago i submitted my artwork for consideration for the video. I manipulated a full colour photograph that i found on the internet and made it into vector drawing black and white.
Because i manipulated just the photograph to a drawing and made it my own, it is now my artwork? Everything else was my idea.
If this is any infringment, how do i get the artwork to be disregarded.

This is amazing!!! I'm a little confused about the release form though but I'm gonna try to get my art in here! I'm a big artist and a HUGE fan of Jack's Mannequin. Andrew Mcmahon is one of the 3 people that keeps my hopes up on my dream to be able to play the piano better. I've been striving to get my art and music somewhere and I think this might mean something! I'll be seeing you Andrew! June 16th in Merriweather!! I can't wait!

I love this idea so much! I think Swim has helped a lot of fans through some intensely tough situations, so it's going to be fabulous to see how everyone interprets the same song. I'm stoked to see what everyone comes up with!
Printing mine tomorrow and then sending it in overnight on Wednesday. It's a photograph of a wire sculpture I made that I editted on the computer. I love how it turned out so I'm really excited about this!
Swim is one of my favorite songs on TGP. I've never related to a song so much in my life. I even based my final art project on it this year :) but I can't send that in because it's jewelry haha but I'm seriously beyond stoked about this!

I finally got three great ideas, and I went up to get some canvas and paint today...and the art store was closed.
So now I have to do it tomorrow, which means...I'm going to have to get next day shipping.
Upon realizing that next day shipping from Maryland to California is like 40$...I realized the east coast=epic suck.
