We Have Ignition

As I step into the final hours of the Sing For Your Supper Tour I would be remiss not to write and say thank you to all who came out. This has truly been one of the best road trips of my career. I can't say enough about the quality of the musicians and people out here with us for the last month. From the amazing support of everyone in the Jack's camp, to our exceptional opening acts in Vedera and Fun. It seems so appropriate that the last of the major touring on The Glass Passenger be met with a feeling of completion and peace. In many ways I have been tracking this feeling for a number of years, always with it close within reach but never fully attained. In the past 6 months, armed with the sense of closure brought about by the release of Dear Jack, I can honestly say that I feel the best that I have in my 27 years. I am so full of energy and hope for what is to come. As I have said throughout this tour, I will have the great pleasure of reuniting with my dear friends in Something Corporate. We will release a Best Of compilation this spring in addition to performing a couple of long overdue shows. This is something we've spoken of for years, but in many ways I am happy we waited. Talking to the guys, I really feel like we are all in a moment where we feel so ready to celebrate all that we accomplished as a band. The record will have a lot of classic SoCo tracks as well as an EP's worth of bonus songs. The EP will include a couple of our most popular b-sides, two remixes and two newly recorded versions of vintage Something Corporate tunes from before we were signed. I think these will be a great addition to our catalog, and I can't wait for you all to hear them. In an effort to stay truly busy, I will also be in the studio preparing Jack's Mannequin's third album. A record that in many ways has been a year in the making, but one that I am pleased to be putting together now, at this moment of perfect inspiration. It's hard to describe how good it feels to be writing the music that I hear in my head free of so much conflict and drama. I have regularly stacked the deck against myself by saying too much too soon into the recording process, but my gut tells me that this record is going to be special. I live to be in this clear head-space while I'm working, so needless to say I'm going to work as much as I can while I'm here. Sorry to go on so long, but I figure that since I'm pretty much just a tourist in this digital world, I'd get it all out while I was visiting. Be well.

Andrew

wow really cool site just wanted to share trade hard links

I just want to Thank all the bands for making my first Jack's Mannequin concert a memorable night for me. I had never listened to Fun. till that night and now I am a big fan of there's. Andrew you put on a phenomenal show. Dark Blue as the final song of the encore blew me away!

I have been listening to Jack's Mannequin for a little over a year after my best friend told me about them. back then I was nearly trying to start conversation with a girl what better way then with asking her about music. I had never listened until she told me to listen to Dark Blue. Ever since it has been my favorite song and has countless plays on my computer. Jack's Mannequin got me through some rough times last year. When my father lost his job I would sit and listen and feel calm even though my family situation was so chaotic. So thank you for all you have done and will continue to do, god bless and watch over you.

ANDREW!

PLEASE COME TO BRAZIL, WE LOVE YOUR MUSIC HERE, YOU ARE AN INSPIRATION FOR ALL OF US!

BRAZIL IS WAITING FOR JACK'S MANNEQUIN!!!

Andrew, i can not tel you how much your music speaks to me. I have been following you since your something corporate days and i will follow your music where ever you take it. I have anxiety and panic attacks and i can not explain to you how much your music relaxes me, i can listen to your music play over and over and it never bores me. i love seeing you live and i have only had the pleasure of meeting you once a very long time ago (2004 i want to say). You have an amazing talent and i look forward to seeing you next time your close to Pittsburgh. I am actually planning on taking a weekend off to drive a few hours just to see you play. You music has helped me through many tough times and i thank you for everything . God has given you an amazing gift. So keep playing and i hope to hear/see you soon.

btw can't wait for the new album!

Andrew,
Tonight I went to your Uconn show, and I thought you totally owned the stage. Most of the crowd was incredibly rude, but I just wanted you to know that there were a bunch of your fans there who really appreciate your music. I'll definitely go to see you in a smaller venue where the crowd isn't so belligerently drunk.
Til then, keep kicking ass,
Cay

I just thought I would share.

I think you have absolutely mastered the ability to portray emotion through a song.

-I am the type of person that has problems allowing physical emotions to escape. Without music like his, I fear my only two "emotions" would be "smirk", and "stone".

I just recently saw you live, in Chicago, the second performance. After years of listening, it was fantastic to see that the emotions that come through my headphones daily, really do come from a real, live, breathing person.
-It felt almost like closure. I don't get it either.

There are only two things in the world that scare me.

Medical needles, and the fear of Andrew retiring.

Keep writing, playing, and most of all... thank you.

At the Murat in Indianapolis.. I tossed my copy of Siddhartha on stage and Andrew signed it.

That's a memory for sure,
many thanks Jack's Mannequin.

hey, i love Jack's Mannequin, but I was just wondering if you could bring a tour to the UK (preferably Cardiff) becuase I would really love to see your tour, but I never get the chance! So thats just kind of a request that i thort i would post!! :) And by the way, I can't wait 'till the next album!! It's going to be amazing!! :) xxx

I wish you brought the Sing For Your Supper tour to Florida, or maybe a Something Corporate show? That would be amazing. I can't wait for the next Jack's Mannequin album. I'm sure it'll be fantastic. :)

It's funny - my husband and I both thought that somehow you seemed "lighter" at the Norfolk show. Just happy and well (according to our untrained eyes, anyway). Turns out you are feeling as such, which is wonderful. You deserve this time of peace and satisfaction for all that you've given over these years.
Thanks for celebrating our happy news with us and for signing something for our new little one on the way :<) I know we gave you the recap of the story, but the lyric "everything's a piece of everyone" never rang so true as it has in our lives recently. Hearing The Glass Passenger for the first time many months ago really stirred me-- in an uncomfortable way, forcing me to face some hard stuff that had gone untended. And just as those songs dredged up fear and loss and uncertainty, they eventually emerged as hope, tentative triumph even, that encouraged us to take to the road (yay road trip :<) and recalibrate. Getting perspective, as you said, can be a priceless journey .

We are so thankful that your album came along and swept us into a new and exhilarating place. May your music always provide such revelation for you as an artist, and as a traveler like the rest of us <3

I cannot tell you how excited I am that SoCo is playing some shows this year. I recently moved to Austin from Chicago. Coincidentally, my last "event" in Chicago was the screening of Dear Jack and it was incredible to experience seeing that amongst a small group of people and in such an intimate setting. When I saw that the LA Bamboozle show was announced, I was going to try to over stretch myself and fly out for the weekend to see the show BUT when the Chicago show was announced, there were no ifs, ands, or buts about it. I bought my ticket to Bamboozle at Charter One Pavilion and the plane ticket a few days after. Double wammy, get to see my absolute favorite band that changed my life nearly 10 years ago and every day since as well as missed friends and family. Everyone is reuniting in my hometown for the show and it's going to be extraordinary. I cannot wait to see SoCo live again, it has been five years since I last saw you guys at the Metro....it has been much, much too long.

I recently saw JM on Feb 17 in Dallas and even though it made me feel just a little bit more at home, there is absolutely nothing like a show in Chicago. Thank you for writing the lyrics that have gotten me through several rough patches and major life changes in my life. Thank you for always being there when I need a friend. Even though it is through my speakers...it's always a comfort through music that keeps me going.

See ya in Chicago! And I can't wait for the next JM record.

This blog is exhibit A for why I love Andrew McMahon!

I am so thankful for the day I listened to Dark Blue, fell in love with it and googled to find out who Jack's Mannequin was. haha How I lived my life pre-Andrew I have not a clue. He regularly influences my mood/thoughts/feelings and I cannot wait to experience the new songs to come on the third album.

Andrew, thanks for sharing so much of your self with your fans. Best of luck in this exciting time in your career.

XO

I can't wait for the 3rd album. I hope is comes out in October.

The news of a third Jack's Mannequin album totally just brightened up my day, which to be quite honest, sucked. Cannot wait! :D

I just want to say thank you for making my first Jack's Mannequin concert a total blast and an experience that I will never forget for the rest of my life. I can't wait to see Andrew with Something Corporate in Chicago on May 15th. I know it's going to be a blast. Can't wait until the next JM record comes out! xoxo
