Song For a Submarine

The Farther From Earth Tour is off to a great start. It feels like a while since I've headlined a tour this size with big production elements like the light show we're carrying. That said, we've been loving every night and cannot say enough to thank both our fans and the amazing people from the Low vs Diamond and Matt Nathanson camps. I know a blog is long overdue so I'm going to pass along some road poems and pictures in the coming weeks as well as some home movie stuff. Thanks for your patience guys.

Here's installation # 1

Song for a Submarine

Met Sorvino in the lobby with my journal
We gave the German bartender a mood ring
Her boss called almost immediately
She was a Capricorn
I was wondering what was next
Been standing on the edge of something for a while now
Its Easter in Grand Rapids
The wheat haired waitresses
Gather in the midst of madness
Wishing to hate us, only to fail
We are more honest
Then the buttoned up, family nuclear
Fresh from Sunday service.

Back at home my girl set the daffodils on fire
She didn't mean to
But I heard there are never any
Real mistakes
Most girls I know wish
They were Alice
in
wonderland
I just wish I were IN wonderland
Sometimes I think I am

hi

HI

omg

beautiful, andrew! another wonderful song!

alice

I would like to be alice. wonderland is the only simple place. unless we were all animals again and couldn't think or feel and it was all about survival and our heads would blow up because of social stuff that makes us want to kill ourselves. hard to get time in to become alice. besides it was all just a dream.

:))

ahhhh i love that!! ♥
my friend and i are coming to see you in darien lake on june 17th we are sooooooooooo excited! its right after our science final exam, too, so knowing me ill probably write ur song lyrics as one of my answers or something absent minded like that but it will be so worth it!!

simply amazing
can't describe it in words <3

an additional songgg so many people wouldd LOVE

hey, so i'm from chicago and july 28th will be my third time seeing you guys in the past year (congress theater with paramore, bottom lounge with fun, and now tweeter or midwest whatever you want to call it with the fray) SO during your performance at bottom lounge you played cavanaugh park which is obviously an older something corporate song (i'm obviously a large fan of it as well) AND i was thinking aboutt how you did play an old song. so you guys should really play KONSTANTINE during your tour because it seriously is such an aamzing song that everyone loves. it seriously means more to me than anyone even knows and it would be awesome AND YOU KNOW IT :) the fans would love you guys playing it and you really should think about throwing it in there (especially on july 28th) it's the song that made my best friend, whom is which a guy, realize that he shouldn't be with the girl he was with and that he really should have been with me the whole time. and we've been dating for almost a half of a year now so i owe the songg a lot. i really would love to hear it live when me and him come to see you guys soooooo really :) i'd love for you to play it. oh! and rescueddd!!!!!!! it's my favorite song and it wasn't played either of the times i saw you and it's secretly a favoriteee songg too!! SOOOOO i really just hope you actually read this and think about playing both of those songs. i'm sorry if this is weird and you just think i'm just some freak, it's cool, but honestly, you're my favorite band and your music makes a huge difference in my life and :) i hope you play those two songs. it would mean a lot!!!!

Thank goodness for you :)

Sometimes when listening to your music I can't tell what the hell is going on in your head! I have to say though, that I absolutely love the fact that people can feel your emotion when watching you sing your songs. It might be hard to translate what you're trying to say through some of your songs, but it's nice to be able to find my own meaning in them. The debut of Everything in Transit helped me through so much! It's a relief to be able to listen to your music, remember what you were going through, and still be able to listen to it because you know that that part of your life got you to a better part your at now. I love watching you perform! Keep rocking!

Wellmont Theatre in Montclair, NJ

Andrew, you are amazing. I really think that once the summer tour is closing you should consider playing a show at the wellmont theatre in montclair, nj. The venue would be perfect for you and your fans. It would mean so much.

just saw you at irving plaza

and of course you were magnificent
i still cant sop thinking about it
so good job and i hope your tour goes great- im actually going to try to see another of your shows soon so be ready

on another note, the poem
Im not sure I really understand it. I think the imagery was really really great but I dont understand it as a whole I think- what are you trying to say? Im really curious because it sounds cool and really interesting, maybe Im just stupid for it being way over my head...?

LOVE THE TITLE.

Come to Penn State, I think we'd be friends.

poetry

Your words are beautiful. i'm sure that's not news.

Beautiful

You are such an amazing poet. I think it just be your soul. I am so looking forward to seeing you at Stubb's in Austin next month! Saw you at Verizon in Houston awhile back and have been wishing to see you again from the moment the show ended--it was just so electric and reached so far into the depths of emotion. Experiencing Jack's Mannequin is going to be perfect in a small venue like Stubb's. I also have tickets to see Jack's at the outdoor show with the Fray in Houston in July. That will be a really different venue--your big soaring voice outside in the night under the stars! Thank you for everything, Andy!

Dear Jack Release date??

When is the release date for the Dear Jack Documentary?

cheers
Anthony

And the seasons of last year like reasons have floated away..
